Phenomenal Women

I tweeted earlier this month on how March is going to be insanely busy. Now that the end is finally approaching, I can safely say that this particular tweet was an understatement of MASSIVE proportions. The whole month has been a blur, and I have hardly managed to find time to blog. However there is something that has been on my mind, and I have been wanting to share this particular month. The idea to blog this particular piece sprung up when we were surprised at work with a huge box of Krisy Kreme Doughnuts from a colleague to mark International Women's Day celebrated on 8th March 2011. I love the idea of a day specifically dedicated to celebrating being a woman. I believe there is so much joy in being a woman that should be celebrated. The fun in dressing up, being a fashionista, wearing high heels, our empathy, our loving care, the power to bring life in to this world. An old favorite poem 'Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou' sums this up beautifully. This post is my personal dedication to all women in this world because we are all Phenomenal Women.

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

  7. Woman: The most complicated emotional labyrinth, which its borders and ways change according to the emotional moods and becomes more dangerous after each corner depending on her level of intellectuality.

Man: Some has ability to jump on or pass through the walls, hence to save themselves. Others lost their way and die in that labyrinth. However neither of them can understand nor solve it.
